Download Blank newspaper 600k

This is a blank version that you can fill out with your own articles about politics or the media. I'd like to stress that you can do a very simple and quick paper. You can even print the blank out and hand draw your stories and/or pictures.

If you want to do a more realistic paper, use Photoshop or equivalent program. It works well with "Times" and "Impact" fonts.

1b. If you download a "blank" newspaper file: write up some articles about unreported/under reported political items or media criticism. Put in some images from the internet. *You may want to use a deep shade of gray for the text instead of black; you can try sampling colors from the rest of the paper.. You can "de saturate" the images and put some "grain" on them to make them read more like a real newspaper. Some "gaussian blur" on the text works well. You can also draw, or scan stories. Check some blogs for content. Please avoid fear mongering or hate speech. We are trying to make people think, not panic or anguish. Look at the bottom of the page for some story ideas.

2. If you download a "Tabloid" sized paper, print it in color at a copy place. If you download part A and B you can print it on a home color printer; the file is split into two "letter sized" pieces. *You may want to adjust your print margins to maximize the printable area on your paper. I printed my paper on a color laser printer with plain white paper. You may want to adjust the color balance or brightness on your printer to make it look oh, so good.

3.

Trim the white margins off of your prints.
If you printed two 8.5x11" prints, tape the two parts together.
Next, tape your "paper" to the front of a real newspaper. The top of the real paper will be visible. *Cover the bottom edge of the paper with the bottom of your print. Fold the paper if necessary.

4. Put your paper in the window of a Chronicle newspaper box.

5. Take a picture.

6. Send your picture, first name, date and location of installation. It will be posted on this site shortly after you submit it. *If you submit before February 29th, 2008 your image and info. will be put up in the Catharine Clark Gallery in San Francisco, CA. If you are bringing in a print, it should be no larger than 6x9".

Send picture, name (optional)date, and location and it will be posted here!
